| Tail: | Z-Lon Shuck (Very Sparse) | |
| Body: | Z-Lon Twisted and Wrapped | |
| Wing: | Deer Hair | |
Notes on tying:
1. Begin by tying in Z-Lon shuck for tail (very sparse).
2. Twist straight Z-Lon into a rib and wrap for the body.
3. Add deer hair (tips back) for wings and tie in tent style.
4. Trim off deer hair in front for head.
5. Whip finish.
This is a variation of a Elk Hair Caddis. Cast it up stream and let it dead drift back. The trailing shuck makes the fly imitate an emerging caddis which has been caught in the surface film. Often trout will key on these more vulnerable insects during a hatch.
