Notes on tying:
1. Tie in Moose body hair for tail.
2. Tie in deer hair at base of the hook and dub over it with thread.
3. Pull deer hair up over body and allow it to fold up for wing
tips.
4. Wrap brown and grizzly hackles and tie off.
The Humpy was described by Jack Dennis in the Western Trout Fly Tying Manual. It was developed by Jack Horner of California and was known as "Horners Deer Hair" and also as the "Goofus Bug". Fish it across with a reach cast, up and across or straight up.
