Notes on tying:
1. Tie in and wrap gold tinsel for tag at the bend in the hook.
2. Wrap brown hackle in front of tag.
3. Tie in peacock herl and wrap body with peacock herl.
4. Rib body with gold wire.
5. Wrap white hackle at front of hook.
6. Whip finish head.
This is a western pattern that was devised in the 1920s by Taylor "Beartracks" Williams from Wyoming. It is listed in The Orvis Fly Pattern Index. This is a great pattern for emerging caddis as well as other emergers.
