| Wing: | Black Duck Or Goose Wing | |
| Hackle: | Black Dry Fly Hackle | |
Notes on tying:
1. Tie in Z-Lon for tail (sparse).
2. Twist the Z-Lon strand used for the tail into a tight strand
and wrap it for a segmented body.
3. Tie in wing of black duck or goose feather.
4. Tie in and wrap hackle.
5. Finish head.
6. Trim off bottom of hackle level with hook point.
Trout nailed this pattern on the Bighorn River, when the hackle was trimmed off the bottom of the fly. It is also used for trout in the Midwest by casting it up stream and letting it dead drift back.
