Notes on tying:
1. Dub a fur or antron body.
2. Palmer Hackle around body and tie off.
3. Tie elk hair (tips back) on top of hook allow butt ends of
fibers to extend in front of hook.
4. Tie off and trim the fibers butts in front of the tie at a
45 degree angle to form the head.
5. Whip finish.
The Elk Hair Caddis was developed by Al Troth. It was described by Dave Whitlock in the Summer 1986, Trout. Fish it with a dead drift on the surface or by skittering it across the surface.
