Notes on tying:
1. Tie in 1 strand of antron yarn in back of the hook bend (1/2
to 3/4 inch long).
2. Wrap black floss on hook shank.
3. Separate and pull antron yarn loosely up around the body of
the fly. (You can leave a few strands out the back of the
fly for a trailing shuck.). Tie down and trim off.
4. Tie in and wrap ostrich herl (3 or 4 wraps) over a drop of
head cement for head.
5. Whip finish.
This pattern that was developed by Gary LaFontaine. It is listed in several books on fly patterns. It can be fished dead drift through rapid water. Many people have had great success with this pattern on the Root River in Minnesota.
