Notes on tying:
1. Tie in red hackle fibers for tail.
2. Tie in and wind orange chenille for the body.
3. Tie in hackle at end of body and take 4 or 5 turns with it.
4 Tie on white bucktail or z-lon behind the eye and wrap thread
to form a tapered head.
5. Whip finish and apply head cement.
This pattern for steelhead and salmon was described in an article by Dave Hughes in American Angler March-April 1991 pgs 6-7. This fly works well when it is fished dead drift.
