Notes on tying:
1. Twist two strands of peacock herl together for body.
2. Rib with gold wire.
3. Hen hackle wrapped behind the eye of the hook.
4. Build head with red thread and whip finish.
This fly is probably of Scottish origin. It was one of James Leisenring's favorite flies. Cast it across and down using the "greased line" technique for trout.
